ART CAMP is Moving to JUNE
Things are different at the Markay this year as we prepare for our August 1 Grand Opening. Art Camp has been moved up by one month. It will be held Monday, June 22 through Thursday, June 25.
Youngsters will arrive at 10 a.m. and work all the way until 4 p.m.
The intense week of art will be held at the First Presbyterian Church in their Fellowship Hall. We are grateful to the Church for allowing us use of their facility.
Bob Eisnaugle is teaming up with Debra Shumate to create a week filled with exciting arts activities. Details are being finalized by Bob and Debra. They promise some drawing with emphasis on portraiture, some 3D work including clay, and theyre devising a public art project.
Classes are open to those who have completed 5th through 8th grades. The cost will be $110.00 with students taking home all of the art supplies provided for the session. Class size is limited.
Please call Southern Hills Arts Council at 740-755-0209 to make your reservation.
Family and friends will be invited to see what the youth have accomplished at a Reception featuring the students work at 7 p.m. Saturday, June 27 in the Markay Gallery.
Light refreshments will be served.

During the August 2 reception, Bob Eisnaugle discussed work by individual students.
Here he is admiring the detailed painting of a lizard by Emily Grueser.

Thomas Quanci, Bob explained, chose to paint his typewriter and was
quite particular in mixing just the proper color.
